Scope
It can be used in receiving, transmitting and transceiving antenna devices of radio engineering systems for various purposes, in particular, to develop active electronically scanned arrays.
It features advanced functionality when used for emitting (receiving) signals with horizontal, vertical, linear and circular polarization.
Principle of Operation
The peculiarity of this antenna module is that the circular polarization antenna module has two microwave inputs, each of which excites a linearly polarized electromagnetic wave in free space.
Electromagnetic waves excited by the emitter are mutually orthogonal. Thus, by controlling the phases of the excitation signals, it is possible to control the polarization of the emitted (received) signal.
Benefits
- Simple in design and low overall dimensions
- High mechanical strength
- Design modularity, which allows easily scaling the number of components when building an AESA
